Getting started
Open, explore, and keep the folders together.
- Complete project: extract the ZIP to a writable local folder. Open
DS926_ArcGIS_Project/DS926_SubSurface.aprx. Keep the accompanying data folders with the APRX. - Raster package: in ArcGIS Pro, use Add Data or the Catalog pane to add
DS926_Raster_Layers.lpkx to your project. - Read the catalog: the project includes
docs/raster_catalog.csv and technical notes identifying each surface, its units, datum, and source.
ArcGIS Pro is required. PostgreSQL access is not required for the packaged map data. The project’s online topographic and hillshade references require internet access and provider availability; the geological and county data are local.
Keep the vertical references in view.
Raster groups included in the collection| Group | Rasters | How to interpret it |
|---|
| NAVD88 elevations | 27 | Derived and reference elevations in U.S. survey feet. |
|---|
| Published NGVD29 elevations | 20 | Original published elevation rasters retain their source datum. |
|---|
| Thickness and depth | 24 | Distances in feet; not absolute elevations. |
|---|
| Classifications | 18 | Region and qualifier codes; use the supplied lookup descriptions. |
|---|
| Properties | 1 | Published transmissivity in its source units. |
|---|
Published vector elevation attributes retain NGVD29. Changing a map projection does not transform those attribute values. The large 30-m land-surface DEM is excluded from both downloads; the project provides terrain-access notes. NoData, class zero, and physical absence are distinct.
These downloads are regional scientific interpretations and include derived analytical surfaces. They do not establish site-specific conditions. The desktop collection and manifest-selected web-service collection have different delivery scopes. See the technical methods for their relationship.
